Who We’re Looking For

JY is seeking a Cinematographer who has a passion for storytelling through 3D animation and motion graphics video. We are looking for someone who has the ability to translate overall creative direction to the production team and is able to lead that team from conceptualizing an idea to executing it.

Must Have’s:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Cinematographer
  • Minimum Pilot Certificate – Basic Operations (Transport Canada)
  • Valid G2 or G Drivers license (to be on location weather permitting)
  • Working experience of “pre-production” phase: ideation, storyboarding and shoot coordination
  • Working experience of “production” phase: execution, artistic direction, creative collaboration
  • Working experience of “post-production” phase: reviews, colour grading asset/media delivery
  • Ability to present and translate their ideas, clearly and effectively to the team
  • Strong portfolio with a wide range of visual project example

Nice-to-haves:

  • Experience in real-estate industries: residential, high-rise/low-rise, commercial or industrial
  • Experience with editing software: DaVinci Resolve, or Adobe After Effects/Premiere
  • Experience with animation software: 3Ds Max, Blender, Unreal Engine
  • Experience working with 4K + 8K resolutions

Bonus Points:

  • Multilingual (any language)
  • Familiar with WebGL or Three JS

About The Role

The role will consist of creating visual narratives for each project and executing overall creative vision of projects through cinematography. Your work will have an immediate impact that will be significant to our current and future clients and recognized by industry press outlets. Applicants must have proven in-house production team management plus technical expertise in using drones and digital cinema cameras. You will be a creative leader, inspiring team members, crafting compelling stories and exploring the intersection of creative, technology, and real estate.

Responsibilities:

  • Create captivating visual stories that evoke a sense of emotion for each project
  • Capture footage with professional drones and cameras (all equipment supplied)
  • Oversee media production projects from conceptualization to delivery
  • Cleary communicate creative tasks and objectives, supervise the deliverables
  • Maintain high-quality standard and best-practices on each delivered project
  • Manage creative revisions to an appropriate level and communicate feedback to the team

This position is full-time with a starting date of January 2023 at a compensation ranging between $55,000 CAD – $75,000 CAD a year based on experience. Our company is based in Toronto and applicants must be able to work in Canada and have a valid G2 or G drivers license.

*Applicants without filming and storyboarding experience will not be considered.
**To be successful, you should be prepared to demonstrate a portfolio of professional or industry-level execution in visual storytelling.
